What Is SCOOP and What Does It Do?
| It's Where You Live... It's Who You Are Communities along the Florida Space Coast are experiencing a rapidly changing environment. Population influx and the resulting need for an increased use of the finite building resources along the coast are often points of contention between the original members of the communities and those wishing to enjoy the advantages of Space Coast living. A few communities are also having a difficult time integrating the natural cultural mix, which occurs with an increase of citizenry into the normal social structure. Space Coast Online Outreach Project (SCOOP) will provide individual cities along the Space Coast with an opportunity for residents to see themselves as one people, with one shared purpose. Through the use of Video, Audio and the Internet, SCOOP will offer a way for the citizens of these Space Coast cities to view themselves, interact, and experience the diversity of their neighbors through Web Pages specifically dedicated to their city. Volunteers will be recruited to record events, conduct interviews, and participate in entertaining and educational video presentations, which will be available for viewing on Web Pages. It is the hope and desire of the members of the board of SCOOP that through this 'open ended' method of interaction, a better understanding and sense of community will result. |
